Big Picture: Deep Link & eLearning

What is Deep Linking?

Deep Linking allows Alchemy administrators to use a unique URL for an individual course. That unique URL can then be used in an eLearning space (outside of Alchemy Manager) for learners to click on and be taken immediately to a desired, specific course to complete. With Deep Linking, learners can interact with fewer distractions in the user eLearning page, and ultimately prevent learners from searching for and potentially completing incorrect/unrelated activities.

Requirements

While Deep Linking is most effective when using a client has SSO (single sign-on), it can still be used without SSO. Please contact your Account Manager or Alchemy Support if you have additional questions. 

Implications

Users will not be able to search for other courses or navigate to any other items in the navigation bar, except for My Transcripts.

Set-Up & Maintenance

Existing Customers Using Deep Linking - Update Available

If your worksite already uses the Deep Link feature and is needing to update your content

• • Simply add the query string “hideNavigation=true” to the deep-linked course. This will direct users to the new version of the deep-linked course with the hidden menu tabs. Users will be able to navigate to “My transcripts” to view their course historical information. They can either click on the Alchemy logo or “back” button in the browser to return to the original deep-linked course. Be mindful that will the following items will be impacted by this update.
