What is Coach?
Alchemy Coach is a secure, mobile app that allows supervisors to perform on-the-job observations or inspections for validating training. Supervisors can quickly facilitate root cause analysis as well as identify and document corrective actions while promoting positive reinforcement.
Key Features
Below is a list of important features that give you the capability to track and observe within the Coach app.
- Document and report root cause analysis

- Multiple scoring options
- Observe employees individually or multiple individuals simultaneously

Glossary Terms
Familiarize yourself with our terminology by reviewing the terms used in the Coach app and during its usage.
Coach
- Application that is downloaded onto the device
- Name of the administrator performing the observation
- Level of access required in Manager to utilize the application
Observation
- An action item and knowledge review checklist created on Manager and synced on to the Coach device
- The act of a Coach watching an employee perform tasks and measuring their performance with the checklist

Corrective Action
- Optional next step for observations that have been marked Not Compliant

Positive Reinforcement
- Next step for observations that have been marked Compliant
- A technique used to encourage desired behaviors by offering a reward or positive stimulus following the behavior. This increases the likelihood that the behavior will be repeated in the future. Examples include giving praise, rewards, or incentives when someone performs a desired action.
Relationships & Roles
Coach and Manager
- Internet is required to Sync Coach with Manager
- When Coach is Synced, any completed Observations and Corrective actions performed in Coach will be uploaded to Manager, and any new users, Observations, and assignments will be downloaded to Coach
Coach Administrative Role
- Needed by anyone who will access the Coach app
- Coach Administrators with no Manager access can only log into Coach
- Manager Administrators with no Coach access can only log into Manager
- Coaches will need supervisor permission to the worksite or to particular group based on who the Coach is observing. This permission is assigned by a Platinum Admin in Manager (see below).
Manager Administrative Roles
Platinum Admin Access
- Allows onsite admin ability to grant Coach and Gold Admin access without contacting Alchemy Support
- Allows onsite admin ability to give supervisor permission to groups and worksites
- Access Manager site
- Create observations and run reports
- Mark Corrective Actions complete
Gold Admin Access
- Access Manager site
- Create observations and run reports
- Mark Corrective Actions complete
