Adding and Viewing a Creator Course

Add a Course in Manager

1. Navigate to Activities and select Courses.
2. Select the button to create a new course.
3. In the course format menu select AlchemyCreator.
4. Fill in ALL required fields (indicated by an asterisk*):
   • The course code must be alphanumeric

   • The file type uploaded must be a ".sistem" file
     

     The Playbook course delivery option will appear when the course is set to a worksite with Playbook enabled.

5. Select Add.

Creator Course Design and Resume Feature

When designing a course in Creator and viewing it in eLearning, keep in mind that manual advance options affect how users navigate the course, but do not impact how progress is saved. eLearning will always resume where a user left off, regardless of course/slides settings or slide types in Creator.

View the Course in Player

1. From the Activities tab in Player, click the Download icon
2. The pop-up box will search for new courses, once the Sync Status is complete, select Next
3. Click the blue arrows next to the course(s) that you need in the Download Courses window, or select Download All 
   
    
4. A full status bar with a green check next to the selected course indicates the course has been successfully downloaded

   • The newly downloaded course(s) will now be available in the Activities tab in Player
     

      

View the Course in Playbook

1. Sync the Playbook app with Manager.
   • Playbook courses are visible when they are set to worksites enabled for Playbook.
2. Navigate to Courses in Playbook.
3. From here, find and select your course.
4. It will give the option to Preview course or Train user
   • If you select Train user, it will take you to the Choose user page where you will select the user who will take the course for credit

   • Previewing a course will not create a transcript, and will not be recorded in Manager

      

Additional Information

• Create a new course parent is the default selection that should almost always be selected. The exception is if this course should be a Child to an existing course (for example, a language translation) then select “Link to existing course parent”. For more information, see the Manager - Parent Name Translation tip sheet. 
• Estimated duration is the time that is displayed in Player when choosing activities. It typically includes 2 remediations and the Lightening Round/Game Show in the calculation.
• Passing Score is defaulted to 80% when creating a Creator course. All Alchemy courses have a passing score of 100%.
• Course code is specific to each course created and cannot be edited. This must be alphanumeric and contain no spaces.
• Attach a file – Creator files (.sistem) can be played in both eLearning and Player, and by default both are selected.
