These have been created to help your facilities by enabling leaders to calculate their progress and savings in the following areas: Waste Reduction, Energy Conservation and Water Conservation.
Accessing Data Collection Tables within the Facilitator Guides
Once you have accessed the facilitator course, see How to Access Facilitator Courses to learn how to access the course:
- Select the Collecting Data Tab
- Preview each tab by paging through the screens provided directly beneath
- Scroll down to access the Excel file
- Select Download
- Once you've opened the file, follow the instructions below to input the requested information by tab

Waste Reduction
Guidance: Please provide the specific information related to waste in the following tabs.
Tabs available:
- Instruction
- Provide organization information within the spaces provided in this tab
- Municipal
- Provide in detail the type of waste generated at your facility based on each column provided
- Process
- Provide in detail the type of waste generated during the processing of a product at your facility
- Note: Waste Type could be in-house scrap generated in the production process that is not picked up by a private or municipal waste hauler, but is instead managed on-site through recovery systems.
Water Conservation
Guidance: Please provide the specific information related to water in the following tabs.
Tabs available:
- Instructions
- Provide organization information within the spaces provided in this tab
- Water Main
- Provide the total water consumption and its source for your facility
- Note: Water source is either municipal or direct from source.
- Process Water
- Provide the total water consumption specific to the process at your facility
- Sub-metered
- Provide the total water consumption of water recorded at any sub-meter if installed. Indicate what water the sub-meter is for
- Recovered Water
- Provide the total reclaimed/recovered water at your facility
- Wastewater Effluent
- Provide any waste water effluent recorded at the facility before discharging into any water stream
Energy Conservation
Guidance: Please provide the specific information related to energy in the following tabs. Use the drop-down lists where provided to select the most accurate option.

- Provide the organizational information in the spaces provided in this tab
- Natural Gas
- Provide the monthly consumption for natural gas for your facility
- Electricity
- Provide the monthly consumption for Electricity for your facility
- Note: Facility Address required to determine appropriate emissions factors for GHG emissions.
- Steam
- Provide the monthly consumption for Steam below at your facility
- Stationary
- Select the appropriate fuel type from the drop-down list in the Fuel Combusted column and provide the value
- Mobile
- Select the appropriate vehicle type from the dropbox and provide the value
- Note: Mobile sources include any on-site vehicles that are owned and operated (not leased) by the reporting company (e.g. forklifts, work trucks, company vehicles, etc.)
- Refrigerants & AC
- Select the appropriate refrigerant type from the drop-down list and provide the value.
- Note: Reference any purchased refrigerants to charge or recharge on-site refrigeration, air conditioning and other equipment (e.g. recharge because of refrigerant leakage or from initial installation)
