A group organizes Users in Manager, allowing for activity tracking via reports and automatically assigns training when subscribed to a Learning Plan. Manager is equipped with three different types of groups. This article defines the group types, outlines group creation, maintenance and editing.

A group configured in Manager by adding/removing Users. The most manual group/user process.

A group in Manager configured and updated by the data supplied in the HR import.

A group configured in Manager through filter options.

Driven by:

Membership is driven by manual addition. Unaffected by HR Imports.

Membership is driven by HR import.
|
Membership is based on designated filter options (including system and corporate groups). See Filter Options below.
|
Maintenance:
|
Requires manual addition/removal of users by Admin.
|
HR Import maintains addition/removal of users. Groups cannot be edited or deleted manually.
|
HR Import feed and/or manual Dynamic Group filter maintenance by Admin.

Example:
|
Admin creates system group in Manager for the Sanitation Unit. Admin will manually add/remove Users to the Sanitation Unit group.
|
HR Import creates and maintains the Sanitation Unit group. Manual addition/removal of Users, and manual group deletion cannot be made.
|
Admin creates Sanitation Unit group using filter options including the corporate group and division option. The User membership for Corporate group and Division will be maintained by the HR Import. Admin will only manually add/remove filter options to the Dynamic group.

Filter Options for Dynamic Groups
Administrators can create and edit Dynamic Groups based on specific criteria. The criteria filter options are listed in the image below. To work, these filter options must be enabled and have data available. Additionally, Dynamic Groups work in conjunction with HR Integration and the HR integration filter options. Review the available options below and update for general maintenance, if needed. To start using Dynamic Groups, or for more information, contact your Account Manager.
