Intertek Alchemy is excited to launch the next generation of our mobile experience — a modern app that unifies the capabilities of Coach and Playbook into a single, streamlined solution. To support a smooth phased rollout, we’ve outlined optional preparation steps for customers adopting the new Intertek Alchemy mobile app. These best practices help ensure devices and teams are ready and that your data remains protected as you transition to the new experience.
1. Sync Frequently
Syncing ensures that all training, observations, and user activity are securely stored in Manager.
Perform a manual sync at the end of each workday or shift.
Always confirm the sync completes successfully before closing the app.
If you use multiple worksites, perform a sync for each one.

Remember: Unsynced data lives only on the device and will be permanently lost if an app is deleted or replaced.
2. Limit Offline Use
The new app continues to support offline functionality, but syncing regularly is critical.
Avoid offline mode if possible, especially in the 24 hours before upgrading.
If you need to work offline, sync immediately once back online.
Do not uninstall or update the app until all offline work has been synced.
3. Complete In-Progress Items
Before upgrading:
Review and complete any in-progress observations or training.
Incomplete items cannot be transferred or synced until finalized.
In Coach, use Assignments → Status → In Progress to find open items.
In Playbook, check both learner mode and admin accounts for pending training.
4. Confirm a Cutover Plan
Begin planning your internal transition date and communicate it to your team.
Choose a time window to stop using the legacy versions.
Coordinate with your IT if needed to hide or restrict access to older apps.
Encourage users to update as soon as they’ve completed their final syncs.
5. Post-Upgrade Verification
Prepare your teams for the Upgrade process. After installing the new Intertek Alchemy app:
Log in using your customer URL, username, and PIN. (you will be prompted to re-create your PIN, but it can be the same as what it was before)

Confirm that your data appears correctly after the initial sync.
The sync may take up to 10 minutes to get all your data positioned into the new application.
Once verified, you may re-enable automatic app updates.
