Note: A Stand-alone Test is a graded assessment for determining comprehension of a set of learning objectives. A test is referred to as stand-alone when it is not directly linked to a company-specific course. For information on creating a test linked to a training activity, see Manager: Activities > Linking a Test to a Course.
Creating a Test
- In Manager, navigate to ACTIVITIES > Tests
- Select Create New Test, at the top of the page
- Type in a name for the test in the Test Name field
- Select the Language
- Select the Worksite, multiple worksites can be selected
- If the test is meant to align with an existing training requirement outside of Alchemy, such as a test that is already tracked in a separate system, enter an identifier in the External ID Text Box
- Verify the Delivery Method
- Select the Player and eLearning option for both formats, Player only option if the test should be viewed in a group setting, eLearning only if the test should be viewed in Manager

- Click SAVE, the screen will refresh and the new test will appear under the Draft Test heading
- Click EDIT next to the test under the Draft Tests heading
Properties Tab
- Enter a percentage in the Pass Percentage text box
- Click the Save button
Questions Tab
- Click the Questions tab
- Click Add New Section
- A section is a tool to help you organize questions
- Type in a name for the section and click Save
- The section will appear on-screen
- The section will appear on-screen
- Select a section to highlight it and click the Add New Question button
- Select a question type from the drop-down menu and click Next
- Type in a question and answers and click Save
- Remember to indicate the correct answer in the Correct Answer drop-down list
- Continue adding questions to build your test
Publishing the Test
- Select Preview to preview the test
- If ready to publish, return to the Questions Tab, and click Publish
- The screen will refresh showing the test listed under the Published Tests heading
View the Test in Player
- From the Activities tab in Player, click the Download icon
- The test will now be available to select in the Activities tab
View the Test in eLearning
- In eLearning, navigate to the Course Catalog
- Search for the test and click the Play button
- If a user has been assigned to the test, it will appear in their My Learning Plans and My Courses tabs
