There are two ways to build a Playbook course: in Manager and in Playbook. This article discusses how to build a course in Playbook.
For information on how to build a course in Manager, see Playbook: Manager> How to Build a Playbook Course in Manager .
Note: Any admin (Copper and above) with Playbook access can build a course in Playbook. If the admin does not have Silver Admin access or higher in Manager, the final course draft must be approved by an admin with a higher access level.
Step 1 | Starting Your Course
- From the Home page in Playbook, select Create & edit course. Then click on Create new course.
- Enter a Course title, select the Course language, then click NEXT
Step 2 | Add Content to Your Course
Content that is directly saved onto the device can be added to the Playbook Course. The method for incorporating various content types—texts, videos, photos, questions, and documents—is streamlined for ease in Playbook. Here's how you can add and format your course content:
Choosing Content Types
Here are the types of content you can add to your Playbook course:
Any uploaded media must be 500mb or below |
Formatting Text Across Content Types
Enhance your course with text to provide context or instructions. Title your text, input your content, and use features like bullet points, numbered lists, and hyperlinks for organization.
- Give your text a title
- Add content in the text box
- Format your text with bullet points or a number sequence:
- Add a hyperlink
- The Link Title is how the link will be displayed; the Link Target is the full weblink
- To remove the link, highlight the link text and click on the Unlink icon
- When you are finished editing your text, click NEXT.
Adding Videos and Photos
Adding video and photo content to your Playbook courses is a great way to show how to complete job-specific tasks. They can be taken directly from a smartphone within the Playbook app, carried horizontally or vertically. Or, if you prefer to create content prior to adding a course, you can upload a photo or video.
