There are two ways to build a Playbook course: in Manager and in Playbook. This article discusses how to build a course in Playbook.

Note: Any admin with Playbook access can build a course in Playbook. If the admin does not have Silver Admin access or higher in Manager, the final course draft must be approved by an admin with a higher access level.
Create a Course in Playbook
- From the Home page in Playbook, select Create & edit course
- Select Create new course
- Give the course a title, click NEXT
- Add video, photos, text, questions or a document
Add Text
Text can be added to any question, video or simply on its own to give more context to the course.
- Give your text a title
- Add content in the text box
There is also the option to:
- Organize the information with bullet points or a number sequence
- Add a hyperlink
- The Link Title is how the link will be displayed, the Link Target is the full web link
- The Link Title is how the link will be displayed, the Link Target is the full web link
- When you are finished editing your text box, click NEXT
Adding Videos and Photos
Adding video and photo content to your Playbook courses is a great way to show how to complete job specific tasks. They can be taken directly from a smart phone within the Playbook app, taken horizontally or vertically. Or, if you prefer to create content prior to adding a course, you can upload a photo or video.
- Select ADD VIDEO or ADD PHOTO from the course options page
- Choose whether to add from the library or take a photo/video in Playbook, take or add the photo/video
- Give the content a title and additional details if applicable
- Click NEXT
Add Questions
- Select ADD QUESTION from the course options page
- Type the question, then the answer options
- Select the correct answer
- Click NEXT
Add a Document
Adding a document (PDF) to your Playbook content is a great way to include company SOPs or other documentation to your training courses.
- Select ADD DOCUMENT from the course options page
- Click + ADD DOCUMENT to browse your computer for a PDF
- Select the PDF you wish to upload from your computer
- Click NEXT
Rearrange Content and Save
Once you are satisfied with all of the added content, you can rearrange it to fit the course needs. For example, if you decide that a particular question should actually be asked after a specific video, you can move it.
- Click and hold the six-dot icon to the left of your content block title, drag and drop your content block
- Once the content is in the correct order, click SAVE AND CLOSE
Publish Content
If you have the admin rights in Manager (Silver or higher), you will have access to publish a course directly from Playbook. Upon completing the above step, you will have a choice to either:
- PUBLISH
- SAVE DRAFT
- If you choose to save, the draft will be saved and can be published in Playbook or Manager at a later date. The draft will be available for others to edit.

If you decide to PUBLISH, complete the following:
- Select which worksites can access the course
- You will only see the worksites that you supervise
- You will only see the worksites that you supervise
- Choose a category (it will default to the Playbook category)
- Click PUBLISH
View the course in Playbook
- Sync the Playbook app with Manager
- Navigate to Courses in Playbook
- From here, find and select your course
- It will give you the option to Train User or Quick Reference
- If you select Train user, it will take you to the Choose user page where you will select the user who will take the course for credit
- Quick Reference view of a course will not create a transcript, and will not be recorded in Manager
