There are two download options; a manual and an auto download. This article offers instructions for both. This is a guide for downloading Courses within Player; this includes Alchemy Courses, Company-Specific (Player) files, and courses created in Creator and/or Playbook.
Manual Download Courses
- From the main tab, select the
Download icon.
- Select Download on the Administrative settings pop-up window.
- Once the Sync Status is complete, select Next.
- From the Download Courses window, click the download arrow
located next to each course or select Download All.
- Use the available filters at this window to easily search and download specific courses by Language, Category (i.e. Food Safety, Workplace Safety, etc.) or Course Type (Alchemy Courses, Company Specific Creator Courses, etc.).
Note: Additional Filters applies to Player 8.4+.

- Close the download window.
- If you opted to download all or multiple courses, the course downloads will continue in the background.
- A status bar will display in the lower right corner with the progress of the course downloads.
- Once all courses have been downloaded, the progress bar will disappear.
- Once all courses have been downloaded, the progress bar will disappear.
The newly downloaded course(s) will now be available in the Activities tab in Player.
Enable Auto Course Downloads
The auto course download feature updates courses that have been previously downloaded into Player. The course media listed in the Download Courses window remain the most current. To access this feature, contact your Account Manager.
The Auto Download feature updates every six hours when the software is open. Player must be open for it to automatically update. - From the main tab, select the
Download icon.
- At the bottom of the Download Courses window, select Change to enable or disable Auto Course Download selections.
- Note: You may be prompted to enter the Administrator password to authenticate your credentials.
- In the Course Download Settings window, make your selection, then select OK:
- Select Don't Allow to turn auto course downloads off.
- Select Allow Any Time to turn auto course downloads on.
