Creating and assigning users to Relative Date Learning Plans ensures that the required training activities will appear on the user's eLearning account, in addition to making it easier for reporting purposes. Relative Date Learning Plans give the assigned users a specific number of days to complete the activities, depending on when they were assigned to the plan.
The instructions below cover how to create a Relative Date Learning Plan.
Create a Relative Date Learning Plan
- Navigate to Activities then Learning Plans.
- Select the
blue button to add a new plan.
- Choose from the Relative Date Learning Plan options.
- Title the Learning Plan and select a translated title, if applicable
- Enter a number for the Completion window.

OPTIONAL STEP: Make this Relative Date learning plan into a Relative Date Repeating learning plan by enabling the toggle to the ON position. By default, the toggle will be off in a Relative Date plan. When activities are added to the plan, this function will appear. Read more about Enabling the Repeating feature.
- Review the Learning Plan Visibility feature. By default, this feature will be enabled and applied to all of your supervisory worksites. Review and adjust worksites as needed—at least one must be selected.

Decide if the Learning Plan should appear in Alchemy Player. When the toggle is turned on, a list of worksites will be available to select from. Then click Apply.
Note: This feature works in conjunction with the worksites selected with Learning Plan Visibility feature. Available worksites to display in Player is limited to the worksites designated through this feature. -
Select a Follow-up Learning Plan, if applicable. For information on follow-up learning plans, refer to our Attach a Follow-Up Learning Plan article.
- Click on the +/- Activities button on the Required Activities banner.

Search for the activities you would like to add to the Learning Plan created and check the corresponding box, then click APPLY.

Filter by activity type, if needed. Filter options include Course, Evaluations, Observations, tests and Categories.
- When you have selected the appropriate training activities, click APPLY.

Confirm that the activities listed are accurate and select ADD.
After you select ADD, two additional options will appear:- The option to subscribe users to the Learning Plan will appear. For information on subscribing users, refer the article on Assign Users to a Learning Plan.

Enabling the Relative Date Repeating Toggle
This feature enables you to make a Relative Date learning plan into a Repeating Relative Date plan. You can enable this toggle after adding activities to the plan. The toggle will be present in already existing relative date learning plans, and is off by default. The instructions below walk you through the enablement of this feature. Refer to the Repeating Relative Date Learning Plan article for more details.
- Enabling the toggle to the ON position.
- When prompted to add a repeat cycle, select ADD CYCLE.
- Selecting Add Cycle will prompt additional fields to populate. See step #3.

- Enter the Wait Period and Completion Window for your repeating cycle.
- Continuing completing information then Save.
Organize Activity Order
Training activities can be organized in the way the administrator would like the employees to take them. This activity order will be shown in eLearning only, and is a suggested order for the user. Facilitators have the ability to organize a Playlist order in Player, for instructions on how to do that, refer to the Manage a Playlist article.
- From the Learning Plan details tab, scroll to Required activities.
- Drag and drop the activity you wish to move to the desired spot in the Learning Plan order, using the six-dot icon.
- When you are satisfied with the order of your Learning Plan, click SAVE.
Restrict Editing Option
The Restrict Editing option can prevent unintended modifications by other administrators. It helps maintain the integrity of the Learning Plan by ensuring that only the owner, Platinum and Diamond admins can make changes to the plan.
- By default the toggle will remain in the OFF position. To enable, toggle it to the ON position.
